2003 Down East Maine

Yep, we were Down East Maine. That’s what the Mainers call the area we were at. We actually stayed around the city of Lubec. It is the eastern most city in the United States. So when I made this shot I was up really early in the morning. It was June so the sun came up around four thirty in the morning. I was attending a photo workshop hosted by Helen Longest Saccone and her husband Marty. They are the editors of Nature Photographer magazine. There were two other photographers that were part of the workshop. However, they didn’t wake up as early as me. I have an internal clock that wakes me up. Sometimes it’s a gift but sometimes it’s a real pain. Let just say I have a hard time sleeping in! This was the last big trip we went on until 2006. I started college that fall so we didn’t have the time or money to visit any other places. Oh yeah, Catie was able to hike a little better on these trails. And it was beautiful.
