Yosemite, It Made Me Cry

2006 was a great year because we decided this would be the year to do our “big” trip. We decided to visit Yosemite. My sister-in-law and nephews live about three hours from the park so we figured we could visit them too. In fact my sister-in-law stayed with us for a couple of days. Anyway when we left the Oakland Airport we traveled three hours to our cabin. The next day we drove to Yosemite Valley. I remember driving down into the Valley and we saw El Cap and the entire valley. I began to tear up because this was the place where one of my heroes, Ansel Adams, made some of the most iconic landscape photographs. I had never seen such beauty. We had the best time and my daughter got to celebrate her 6th birthday in the High Country of the Sierras. I can’t wait to go back.
