Yosemite-Every Photo Tells a Story

This photograph was created out of frustration. We pulled into this overlook, Olmstead Point, found along the Tioga Pass Road in the High Sierra Mountains. It was cold, 40 degrees, and I was waiting for a dramatic sunset. I thought at one point it wasn’t going to happen. It began to sleet and rain, so I was turning around to go back into the rental car when the sun broke through the thick clouds beaming directly on Half Dome. I began photographing the landscape as quickly as I could before the sun disappeared.
